Charlotte OC’s new track ‘Colour My Heart’ is an intoxicating mix of emotional lyrics and heady, thick vocals. The 22 year old, Blackburn born singer has spread her wings over to LA and recorded and produced a supernatural title track and video.
There is a spooky and bewitching sound to the song that is powered along by underlying beats and earthy melodies pulsating throughout. Charlotte drew on an influence that through the darkness there is beauty; an idea that dawned upon her in a nightclub and the video perfectly compliments the track in light of this.
With a definite overtone of mystical beauty, her musical feels spiritual and almost occultist. So when we found out that the singer’s initial musical inspiration came in the form of dressing up as a witch when she was younger, we were less than surprised. This look has more or less been carried over to the video and we were almost expecting her to whip out a crystal ball and some tarot cards.
‘Colour My Heart’ was recorded and produced with Tim Anderson (Solange, Sia) and will be released along with her EP on November 25th.
